Don’t let her sweet, lilting voice fool you, Lucy Rose is something of a daredevil. Watch her in action in the video for her new single, “Like An Arrow.”
The new album “Work It Out” is out July 6th, 2015 on Columbia Records.
One of the things we love most about acoustic session is a chance to see the artist in an informal setting. The producers behind Neue Vox Sessions had the same thought and came up with a simple but intriguing concept. Their idea was to film acoustic sessions with bands where the band was in control: the band picked the location and song choice and Neue Vox filmed the result. The first session produced by Neue Vox features the indie folk duo The Princes of Westland performing their song “Battle Cry Unbroken” from the top of Winston’s apartment in Bushwick, New York.
Like what you hear? You can find Princes of Westland over on facebook for music updates and more information. We also heard that Neue Vox has some exciting stuff in the works so head on over to facebook and be sure to follow them for information on their upcoming projects.
What can we say about this song…other than the fact that we’ve had it on repeat for the last week! Check out the quirky video for Skinny Lister’s latest single, “What Can I Say” taken from their album, Down on Deptford Broadway. The album is out now on Xtra Mile Recordings.
If you live in the UK the band is currently out on tour supporting the new album and you can get tickets over on the band’s website.
Mumford & Sons have already released two songs from their upcoming album Wilder Mind but it seems like the band are so excited about their new music that they had to release one more. The band have released a live video for the song “Snake Eyes” which features Tom Hobden, formerly of Noah and the Whale, on violin.
Wilder Mind will be released on May 4, 2015 and is currently available for pre-order through the band’s website. The band has also announced a series of Stopover Shows as well as shows in the US and Canada.
The first time I heard Bear’s Den live was the moment I truly fell in love with the band. Their lyrics are emotional and heartfelt and their live harmonies are stunningly on point. With one of their three main instruments consisting of a banjo they were perhaps an obvious choice to join the Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road shows. The trio are due to release their debut album this October, but you can check out the acoustic video for their song “Above the Clouds of Pompeii” (formerly “Pompeii”) now.
Long Island punk group I Am the Avalanche have released a music video for “177”, the second video to come from their 2014 release Wolverines. Shot at the legendary St. Vitus Bar in Brooklyn New York in front of a sold-out crowd, the video captures the raw energy and mayhem that comes with an I Am the Avalanche headlining show and embraces the short, electric nature of the song. The video was premiered by USA Today. I Am the Avalanche are currently on a short run with Modern Baseball leading up to Riot Fest in Chicago and Denver. The band begins a tour in support of Bayside beginning next month. For a full lsit of tour dates, head to the band’s website.
Last year To Kill a King toured the US to promote their debut album, Cannibals With Cutlery. Along the way the band recorded several songs as a part of Ralph’s Balcony Sessions.
This video, which is the last song they recorded, features TKAK playing their song “Choices” with a little help from some friends.
Though for the most part they preferred to play new music on their latest tour, during the last half of their AM Tour the Arctic Monkeys did bring back fan favorite “My Propeller”. The band transitions into the song by a clever outro following the song “Knee Socks.” Check out this video of the band performing the songs live at Lollapalooza 2014.
Michigan-based punk band The Swellers have released the dates for their “Call It a Night” tour, following the announcement earlier this year that they would be “retiring”. Unlike most hiatus announcements, this news came with more of a feeling of finality, as the band announced via twitter on July 28 “we’re just… retiring. We are just done, and it was good”. The Swellers stated that these will be the last shows they play in these cities, which so far includes Buffalo, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit. Check out the band’s music video for “The Best I Ever Had” and kick your week off right with this anthemic, nostalgic look back at the happiest memories the band’s lyricist has experienced. Check out the dates and cities below to see if The Swellers will be making their way to your hometown; the band will be adding more dates in the coming weeks, so no need to fret if your city isn’t listed!
